You may notice that the 'Terrible Twos' start a little before your child's 2nd birthday.
Your toddler is becoming increasingly negative and seems to object to everything you ask. The slightest upset can send her into a tantrum.
Much of this behaviour is reserved for you as a primary caregiver. However, siblings or other children may feel the brunt of her anger if they touch her possessions or otherwise annoy her.
Try to stay calm and patient with your toddler. Gently but firmly remove her from the situation and channel her attention elsewhere.

writes "Labor Inducing Eggplant Parmesan
One of the methods of self-inducing labor that's been sweeping the internet in recent years is the myth that eggplant will start labor. This maternity myth started when a news story began circulating about a restaurant in Georgia named Scalini's. Apparently the mothers of over 300 babies have gone into labor in the past 23 years, within 48 hours of eating the eggplant parmegiana.
The funny part is, it may just be that the dish causes the women to go into labor, but it's not the eggplant. The herbs Oregano and Basil have properties that may cause contractions, though it is not yet known how or in what quantities. This is why, in aromatherapy circles, these herbs and essential oils are to be avoided whenever possible during pregnancy.

Baby: Understanding Baby's Colic |
 |
Debbs
writes "About one quarter of babies will suffer from colic from around age 3 weeks - and you will suffer too! All babies cry of course, but those with colic will cry relentlessly for at least three hours several times a week, usually in the evening when your partner gets home from work. This can be a stressful time for you all, but it will go away of its own accord once baby reaches about 12 weeks. In the meantime there are some things you can try to ease her discomfort and the decibel level.
Symptoms Of Colic As well as the crying and general distress, baby will often extend or pull up her legs, arching her back; and her tummy may feel bloated. "

writes "Where is the Symphysis Pubis? The pelvic girdle is made up of three large bones, the Sacrum (base of the spine) and two large isometric bones which form a joint at the front, the Symphysis Pubis, and join with the Sacrum at the back, at the Sacro-iliac joints. The Coccyx or tailbone is attached to the Sacrum. Separation of the Symphysis Pubis is known as Diastasis Symphysis Pubis but there can be other causes of Symphysis Pubis pain during pregnancy and after the baby is born.
What is Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction?
During pregnancy hormones soften and stretch the ligaments of the body in order to allow the pelvis to open slightly during labour so that the baby can move easily through. Symphysis Pubis and/or lower back pain can occur as early as the 12th week of pregnancy. During pregnancy, and after, the Symphysis can gap slightly and walking, climbing stairs and turning over in bed can be difficult or even impossible.
Not all women suffer from pelvic pain during pregnancy, some only suffer postnatally. There are also those who suffer both during and after pregnancy. Some women will experience pelvic pain in their first pregnancy and not subsequently, while other suffer from this distressing problem with each and every baby. "

writes "The state of Texas has urged the US federal government to put 10,000 troops on standby for search and rescue work as Hurricane Rita approaches. While the storm has weakened, the Gulf Coast as far west as Mexico is on alert and more than a million people are fleeing, causing huge traffic jams.
Texas is due to bear the brunt of Rita but storm rains also threaten New Orleans' newly repaired flood defences.
President George W Bush is due to visit Texas to see preparations there. "

writes "Ok here is an article explaining the BENEFITS of Extanded breastfeeding ( beyond age 1 year)
Nursing toddlers benefit NUTRITIONALLY - Although there has been little research done on children who breastfeed beyond the age of two, the available information indicates that breastfeeding continues to be a valuable source of nutrition and disease protection for as long as breastfeeding continues.
- "Breast milk continues to provide substantial amounts of key nutrients well beyond the first year of life, especially protein, fat, and most vitamins."
-- Dewey 2001
- In the second year (12-23 months), 448 mL of breastmilk provides:
- 29% of energy requirements
- 43% of protein requirements
- 36% of calcium requirements
- 75% of vitamin A requirements
- 76% of folate requirements
- 94% of vitamin B12 requirements
- 60% of vitamin C requirements
-- Dewey 2001 "

All babies develop skills in the same order, but all are unique and progress at there own pace.
Baby’s early movements are uncontrolled, random responses. They don't know yet they have hands and feet etc or how to control them. In response to loud noises or to suddenly feeling unsafe babies will throw their arms out, stiffen and cry. This reflex movement will disappear within a few weeks.
All babies are able to learn from birth, they can hear, see, feel, taste and smell and by using these senses will begin to learn about the world and the people in it. Crying is the only means of communication for babies and they become very well equipped to use it. Babies of this age will never cry for nothing, there will always be a reason, they need something, usually the need is simple..........

You catch him staring at your eyes The eyes are more than just windows to a man's soul; they can also be a tattletale Advertisement to what's welling in his heart. Men always ogle the objects they desire -- it's the reason you're always busting us cleavage-peeping. So consider: With all that eye candy out there, if it's you he's staring at, his affection runs deep. There are two types of I-love-you looks. There's the secret stare (you'll have to catch him in the act). "Watching my girlfriend at a party allows me a private moment when I can pinch myself and wonder how I deserve this amazing person in my life -- a perspective I can't get when she's right there in front of me," says Patrick, 30............

Congratulations on your pregnancy! From the outside there’s no way of knowing yet, though you notice a few changes such as- your breasts may be fuller and your tummy a tad rounder, no one else is likely to have noticed.
Mother: You started your period on the first day of this week. The last period you will have for at least the next nine or ten months. Some women, especially those who choose to breastfeed exclusively, may not have another period for a year and a half! It seems odd to begin counting the weeks of your pregnancy with your last menstrual period, however, most women are not conscious of the day they ovulate, much less the day they conceive their baby. Since most can remember the day their period started, it makes a very clear starting point for determining the due date for your upcoming birth.
Remember that your due date is just an estimate! The average pregnancy last 40 weeks. Most women deliver their babies between 38 and 40 weeks from the first day of their last period.

Your preparations are essential to your success, read carefully and take notes!
It is essential to eat a balanced healthy diet of at least three meals a day, with foods from all four food groups to provide the vitamins and minerals essential to good health. Two of the most important nutrients for a healthy pregnancy are calcium and folic acid. A good prenatal/multiple vitamin will ensure that you get enough of both. Cut back on caffeine consumption. Researchers say caffeine delays conception or relates to infertility, but it does appear to lower a woman's chances of conceiving. (Note: Caffeine may help (in some men) by stimulating sperm motility. Also, being overweight or underweight can affect normal ovulation; reduce the chance of getting pregnant, increase pregnancy complications and the risks associated with anesthesia etc. If your body mass index is above 30 you need a supervised weight loss program. If your body mass index is less than 20 then you may also need to go on a sensible eating program to correct it. Finally, getting in shape at least three months before you conceive (ideally 3 to 12 months) makes it easier to maintain an active lifestyle during pregnancy, and helps during labor. Aerobic exercise can improve your mood and energy level and helps you achieve a healthy pre-pregnancy weight. You'll also be less vulnerable to the hormonal swings. Pre-pregnancy exercises for getting in shape include walking, jogging, running, swimming, and aerobics. (Note: Start slowly and don't overwork your body. You should always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program).
